CRACK SEALANTS - HOT POUR
Hot melt crack sealants fall into one of three categories according to thier use.  These categories are described below and listed to the left, along with an additional section for accessories.  Selection of any of the categories on the left will display the products for that section.

Hot pours for highway, street and airfield use are single component, hot applied, petroleum based products. They can be used to seal joints and cracks in asphalt or Portland cement concrete pavements. Formulated with low softening points and modified to meet specifications for cold climate use, these products are designed for use with pavements or under conditions which require maximum resilience. Due to their softness, they are not recommended for use on areas with pedestrian traffic. All of the products listed in this section are designed for use in oil jacketed melters. Relevant specifications: ASTM D6690, Type II (formerly ASTM D3405); AASHTO M301

Hot pours for parking lots and walkways are single component, hot applied, petroleum based products with a higher softening point. They are modified to provide a stiff, yet flexible sealant suitable for areas subject to pedestrian and low speed vehicular traffic. These materials can be used in either asphalt or Portland cement concrete pavements. All of the products listed in this section are designed for use in oil jacketed melters. Relevant specifications: ASTM D6690, Type I (formerly ASTM D1190); AASHTO M173; Federal Specification SS-S164

Direct flame hot pours are specifically formulated to withstand the higher temperatures experienced in direct fired kettles without damage. Direct flame hot pours also have a higher softening point and are formulated to be stiff enough for use on areas with pedestrian traffic. They can be used in asphalt or Portland cement concrete pavements and with a direct flame or oil jacketed melter.
